Help Us Make A New Home Liveable

Hi everyone,

My name is Vicki and I’m reaching out to ask for a little help during a really tough time for my friend Amy. After a relationship breakdown, her and her two children (Scarlett aged 12 and Alfie aged 15) have been homeless and living in temporary accommodation for the past three months. Amy’s also 7 months pregnant, so it’s been an incredibly stressful and challenging period for them in and out of different accommodation.

This Thursday, theyre finally getting the keys to their new council property – a huge step towards stability. However, the house is completely bare and in desperate need of flooring and basic decoration before they can move in. Without this, it’s just not suitable for them, especially for her son Alfie who is autistic and needs a safe, calm environment.

Unfortunately, the costs of making it livable are likely to run into a couple of thousand pounds – money she simply don’t have right now. She’s also on limited time in her temporary accommodation, so she needs to get the work done quickly to give her children (and soon her new baby) a safe, stable home.

Amy would be so grateful for any help, no matter how small. She has always refused any form of help before (I’ve tried to set this up a few times for her!) but time and money are not on her side now and we need to get her and her kids settled in time for the new baby arriving. Anyone who knows Amy personally knows how much of a kind hearted person she is. How she constantly goes out of her way to help other people all year round. This is now our turn to help her.

Every donation will go directly towards flooring, paint, and the essentials she will need to make this house into a proper home.
