Hi my name is Karen. I have a very special friend who is always the first there when anyone needs anything. She is the mother of 4 wonderful children and the grandmother (nonna) of 3 joyful boys. Her family is her life.
Kallie started to get pain in her foot in October. She contacted the GP but it took 5 weeks before she could see anyone. She finally got to see a physiotherapist. They ordered bloods and sent her away. 2 days later the pain was so severe she went to the local hospital. Her condition was so severe she was in theatre within 5 hours. They found she had large clusters of blood clots in her knee and ankle of her left foot.
After 9 hours of surgery they told her they couldn’t clear the clots in her ankle so they may have to remove her foot. They tried a number of things over a week. The pain increasing every hour that in the end not even opioids could dull the pain.
Monday 1st December 2025 they rushed her back into theatre for her 4th operation. This time they removed her leg from just below her knee.
Kallie is a very active independent person. We know that this will be a shock to her life. Due to this we would like to get her an electric wheelchair so she is able to get out and be active. Just a little something that can make her life a little easier for her at a time of change and heartbreak.
If you can spare just a little to help us to be able to get Kallie out and about a little it will help her be a little independent and help her mental health. Thank you for your time in just reading my story.
