Mijn naam is Sebastian, ik ben 36 jaar en woon in Amsterdam. Vier maanden geleden gooide ik het roer volledig om: ik werd sociaal ondernemer. Met Collective Builder en Canal Clubhouse bouw ik aan een collectief van mensen en organisaties die hun positieve impact willen vergroten.
De afgelopen maanden heb ik keihard gewerkt om deze missie van de grond te krijgen. Daarbij heb ik al veel hulp gekregen van vrienden en mensen uit mijn netwerk. Nu ben ik op een punt gekomen waarop ik jouw hulp nodig heb om Collective Builder naar de volgende fase te brengen en per 1 augustus een unieke plek aan de gracht achter de Nieuwmarkt te lanceren: Canal Clubhouse | Where connections become impact!
Wat is Canal Clubhouse?
Canal Clubhouse is meer dan een intieme en unieke vergader- & evenementlocatie. Het is een plek waar mensen en organisaties samenkomen om te werken aan thema’s die er toe doen zoals klimaat, inclusie en leiderschap. Een plek waar je terecht kan voor je eigen vergadering of event en waar we zelf ook bijeenkomsten, workshops en programma’s organiseren om positieve impact te creëren.
Waarom richten we Canal Clubhouse op?
We hebben Canal Clubhouse opgericht omdat we geloven dat de wereld meer fysieke plekken nodig heeft waar mensen elkaar ontmoeten en samenwerken aan een verbonden, rechtvaardige en duurzame wereld.
Leiders van vandaag en morgen hebben hierin een sleutelrol. Voor ons draait leiderschap om purpose, people, planet en pas daarna om profit.
Wat doen wij zelf?
1. Vanaf dag één geven we non-profits korting op de locatiekosten.
2. Eén dinsdagavond per maand is Canal Clubhouse gratis beschikbaar voor kleine non-profits en startende sociale ondernemingen. Daarnaast koppelen we deze organisaties actief aan experts uit ons netwerk.
3. We organiseren zelf events die passen bij onze missie.
4. We kiezen bewust onze leveranciers en partners: B Corps, sociale ondernemers en duurzame alternatieven.
Waarom hebben we hulp nodig?
We hebben je hulp nodig om Canal Clubhouse succesvol van de grond te krijgen. We hebben startkapitaal nodig om:
- Het huurcontract en de bestaande inventaris over te nemen. Canal Clubhouse is volledig ingericht en klaar om per 1 augustus open te gaan
- Voorraad aan te schaffen om een unieke ervaring te bieden. Van koffie tot Sharpies, er is best veel nodig om een clubhuis te runnen
- De interne organisatie op te zetten: abonnementen, verzekeringen, website bouwen, promotiemateriaal ontwikkelen. Kortom alles wat nodig is om écht van start te gaan

My name is Sebastian, I’m 36 years old, and I live in Amsterdam. Four months ago, I completely changed course: I became a social entrepreneur. With Collective Builder and Canal Clubhouse, I’m building a collective of people and organisations who want to increase their positive impact.

What is Canal Clubhouse?
Canal Clubhouse is more than an intimate and unique meeting & event space. It’s a place where people and organisations come together to work on topics that matter, such as climate, inclusion and leadership. A place where you can host your meeting or event, and where we also organise gatherings, workshops and programmes to create a positive impact.
Why are we setting up the Canal Clubhouse?
We founded Canal Clubhouse because we believe the world needs more physical spaces where people can meet and collaborate towards a more connected, fair and sustainable world.
Leaders of today and tomorrow play a key role in this. For us, leadership is about purpose, people and planet. Only then comes profit.
What do we do ourselves?
- From day one, we offer non-profits a discount on venue hire.
- One Tuesday evening per month, Canal Clubhouse is free for small non-profits and start-up social enterprises. We also actively connect these organisations with experts from our network.
- We organise events that align with our mission.
- We consciously choose our suppliers and partners: B Corps, social entrepreneurs and sustainable alternatives.
Why do we need help?
We need your help to successfully get the Canal Clubhouse off the ground. We need start-up capital to:
- Take over the lease and the existing inventory. The Canal Clubhouse is fully furnished and ready to open on 1 August.
- Purchase stock to offer a unique experience. From coffee to Sharpies, there’s quite a bit needed to run a clubhouse.
- Set up the internal organisation: subscriptions, insurance, building the website, and developing promotional materials. In short, everything required to truly get started.
