Help keep Jeff rockin!

Donation protected
Hi! My name is Isabella Beane, I am Jeff Chapman’s oldest Granddaughter. Help keep Jeff rockin with help for mounting medical bills and expenses

As I sit and write this, Jeff is finishing out his 6th week at B&W hospital in the ICU on life support. He’s a strong man and has been surprising all the doctors and nurses. He’s not giving up and determined to come home and spend time with his family.

In 2012, Jeff had a lung transplant for Pulmonary Fibrosis. He has surprised the doctors by going twice the amount of time than a normal transplant patient. Since then Jeff also got lung cancer in his bad lung. He’s been on and off oxygen dependent but still able to play in the band and sing. Below is a brief timeline of Jeff’s health complications.

- Received Lung Transplant 2012

- Chronic Rejection of Lung 2018

- Lung Cancer Diagnosis 2020

- Multiple rounds of Chemo and Radiation 2020-2023

- July Lung Tumor metastasized to the spine and lung tumor grew

- October 5th went to ICU for difficulty breathing

-October 6th on ventilator support due to his tumor bleeding and it formed a vacuum causing his lung to collapse

- October 8th went to Brigham and Woman’s ICU still on vent support

Jeff has been intubated and extubated multiple times. We made the ultimate decision with Jeff and had the Doctors do a Tracheostomy.

They did an embolization to clamp off the artery in his cancerous lung that was bleeding. And through this all, he sometimes has bad days but for the most part he has been remaining upbeat. He has won the hearts over of every nurse in the ICU and constantly has nurses coming in to see him and say hi. He has even had nurses come in on their days off to work with him. His tumor was bleeding and it formed a vacuum causing his lung to collapse.

They started 24 hour dialysis after he went into kidney failure as a result of some of the life sustaining treatments he has had to endure. As well as being in the ICU for so long.

November 15th, he is talking saying hello and other words, when we were told he wouldn’t be able to speak for a long time. He’s currently using a board and pointing to letters most times.

This has been a tremendous amount of stress, physically and mentally on Jeff and the whole family but also a significant financial hardship on Karen. She hasn’t been able to work at all because of the seriousness of Jeff’s condition she has been spending every possible moment with him.

For the very worst outcome we plan on bringing him home for palliative care. This will be expensive and require a lot of equipment to keep him comfortable so he can pass away comfortably at home with family.

Jeff is a very giving person, having played at many benefits to raise money for causes. Jeff has always been the person people relied on and he is always willing to help no matter the difficulty or time. He has done so much for so many people. He’s dearly loved by his grandchildren and family.

Please consider donating, any amount can help with Home bills, gas, rehab, hospice, palliative care, or recovery. Thank you in advance, We appreciate all the help on this roller coaster!
