It was 12 years ago when he left his young family in the Philippines to seek for a greener pasture in UK. There were so much uncertainties and he had to endure years of homesickness while working in a Home Care. True enough, he managed to emerge successful.
He's been working as a Senior Nurse in a Care Home in Surrey before he was stricken with the virus. He was expecting to bring his wife Edith to UK to finally join him this June, however this lockdown and his sickness stopped him to carry out the application. The last time he saw his family was 5 years ago.
From Day 1 of being symptomatic at home, he was trying to care for himself ,since no one can personally help him for fear of possible COVID-19 infection. He managed to admit himself to the hospital all by himself too.
I am a very close friend to him , like a real brother since we met in the College of Nursing in 1989 in Perpetual Help College in Manila, Philippines . We both served as officers of the Student Council and we partnered in doing Bible Studies in the said College.
He is at the moment a bonafide member of the church I am pastoring which is Jesus Is Lord Church Oxford where he has to travel at least two hours to attend our service. Our congregation was so blessed to hear him preaching in few occasions, he was a graduate of Asian Theological Seminary in the Philippines. Lately it had been difficult for him to see us due to travel constraints and health concerns.
He died unexpectedly where no information about his current finances, insurances and other pertinent details can be accessed by anyone, because neither Larni was aware that he will go this worst and never had the chance to entrust those details to anybody.
His family, the Church and I therefore appeal to everyone's benevolence to help raise a fund for this hero, a front liner who I believe deserves to be honored with a decent funeral at least, and for something to help his wife Edith to carry on with life now that Larni cannot send her financial support anymore.
Larni had absolutely sacrificed a lot for his family. He worked hard and he battled hard times of not seeing his family just to ensure comfortable life for them. He influenced a lot of people with his godly counselling and loving, warm personality. He had so many unfulfilled dreams concerning his family due to this early demise but with the little we can give at least would help to alleviate some of their concerns.
We humbly ask everyone who loves him to please share this link with friends and family. We will highly appreciate any amount everyone shall willingly donate. The amount raised will be specifically used for his cremation expenses and to send all his personal properties left to the Philippines. Any remaining amount will be forwarded to his wife's bank account in the Philippines to help in her daily living.
May the Lord bless you.
Love from the Jesus Is Lord Church Oxford
