Help to give this former Marine a proper funeral

Hi, my name is Tammy and I'm his younger sister. I'm doing this fundraiser to help my mom pay for my brother's funeral expenses. As some of you may know my brother Allan Stringfellow passed away unexpectedly of cancer on Sunday, October 24, 2021. Allan was an ex-Marine who served his country for six years. Allan had fallen on hard times prior to his passing away. He already had two heart attacks. His health was in rough shape. He was unemployed and had lost his insurance. He had been living with my mom these last two years helping her around her house doing much needed repairs. He was determined to help her knowing that she didn't have the funds to hire a handyman. Those who knew Allan knew that he was not a person to express his feelings but he loved to talk about the things that he was knowledgeable about. He loved to research.

Unfortunately, Allan's death was very unexpected. He was admitted to the hospital for testing and died 5 days later. We were very surprised to learn that my brother had cancer. My mom is 82 years old, retired and on a fixed income. As I stated previously Allan had been unemployed and the VA will be covering only some of the burial expenses but none of the funeral expenses. As we all know, nowadays funerals are very expensive, especially in New York and with my mom living on a fixed income she could really use some help to give my brother a proper funeral.
