Help to gift my car to Joel Royal
Donation protected
This is Joel Royal, a wonderful, soft-spoken, hard-working, reliable, responsible, ethical and FUNNY guy. I have worked with him for over 5 years and can attest to the fact that he has a good heart, never complains,
makes us ALL laugh, and is loved by everyone.
For a number of years, Joel held 2 retail jobs, but he was laid off of one due to a drop in sales because of declining foot traffic due to online sales. Subsequently, he lost his car because he lost about 50% of his income. He was given more hours at our workplace, but our company is unable to give him over 25 hours per week on a regular basis. This wonderful guy has been taking the bus from Long Beach to Costa Mesa, Calif (about 22 miles) for many months now, sometimes having to wait 2 hours to get the correct bus because our work hours are HIGHLY variable.
My husband and I just got a new car, so I wanted to give my 19-year old car to Joel. The paint on the outside is a disaster, and it has a huge crack that runs almost the entire width of the windshield, but it’s in good shape mechanically.
When I went to the Auto Club to learn about the title transfer process, it turned out that my car needed to pass a smog test before I could sign the title over to Joel. It failed the smog test and It’s going to cost $700 to fix it. Additionally, the cracked windshield will cost about $300 to fix.
$1,000 (or a little more) will make the repairs needed to pass the smog test and replace the windshield. Other than the above, this car will help Joel get to and from work more easily than taking the bus. Your donation would be greatly appreciated; it would be a big help to someone who always makes the world a much more humorous and responsible place to live in.
Thanks so much in advance for your help!
