Elderly homeless woman & her dogs needs our help
Donation protected
I need the community to come together and help me help this wonderful older homeless woman and her two dogs. I would love to raise enough money to get her a little used small trailer and pay lot rent for a year but I know that’s wishful thinking. But if anyone has one to donate then we can raise money for lot rent that would be amazing! I’m a single mom so money is limited but I do all I can to help her. I met Venice almost 4 months ago. She lost her husband to Covid almost 2 yrs ago, lost her job at frys and sadly all that caused her to lose everything including the house she called home for many many years. She was laying in the park with her two senior dogs. I could tell she was homeless so I stopped to see if her and her dogs needed anything. All she asked for was cold water. I told her if she ever needed anything to come to my house. A few weeks later Venice knocked on my door with bruises on her neck from being attacked and asked if she could set her tent up in front of my car to be safe. Due to my dogs I couldn’t let her in. She has no kids, no family. She set her tent up but the next day the police made her take it down. “Dwellings” couldn’t be visible to the road.. I have a side storage large gated area that I told her she could go behind that way she was safe and had a place to be until we could figure something out. She’s been there almost 5 months now. She WILL NOT give up her dogs or split them up. One was her husbands dog and is almost 12yrs old. The other is 8-9yrs old. She is unable to go to phoenix due to Mesa doctor appointments. She is on a waiting list with her case manager but who knows how long that will take. It’s getting warm out and I don’t know what to do to help her. Arizona summers are unbearable to be homeless in. I was hoping we all could come together and help her and her two dogs get a place to stay, a camper or a trailer to get her in to a place. Many know me in rescue and know I am very reputable and any funds sent would go straight to helping her. Something other than being outside. She has blankets, two cots so her and her dogs are off the floor, food for her dogs. I cook daily and bring her food. She has an extension cord as well if a heater/fan or what not is needed. But it’s no life for her and her two dogs living outside in my side yard. She is the sweetest and kindest woman. I just want to help her and give her the fresh start she needs.
