Help to get Ryan 3 months of his medical cannabis

Donation protected
UPDATE: Now that we have reached our target for this first three months we have chosen to extend the amount to cover 6 months which we hope will give us the time and head space to work on getting Ryan state funding whether it may be in discusses with the HSE or as a last resort looking at taking a legal route for denying him the right "to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health" under The International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESR).

We are trying to raise funds to help cover the next three months of Ryan's Medical Cannabis which he has a Ministerial License for due to no other medication being able to allow him to be pain free without massive side effects.  Medical Cannabis is not only keeping him free of pain but also allowing him to have the best attainable quality life that any young person should be allowed to have,

Ryan has a diagnosis of Gardner Syndrome with a large fibroma located just behind his right shoulder blade. He was diagnosed at the age of 15 in New Zealand but the tumour had been growing inside him since the age of 8 when another Irish hospital misdiagnosed him as they simply did not know what they were looking at as his condition is so rare.

We came home to Ireland straight after his diagnosis so we could be around family as we needed support and our family has been amazing to help with our other children as Ryan would have multiple appointments with different consultants all the time.

We took the decision last year in March to take him off all pharma drugs as he was on high dosages of opioids alongside so many other drugs which were not only have adverse effects on his physically but also on  mental health, so we as a family looked for an alternative natural treatment which we found in Medical Cannabis.

We the backing of two major consultants and his GP Ryan was granted a Ministerial Licence to THC products.  Through trial and error we finally found the one product which give him back his life Bedrocan Flos with a THC content of 22%. The license tells you must collect your prescription from the Transvaal Pharmacy in the Hague, Holland.  We have being travelling and collecting his prescriptions as often as we could often as its 975 euro per month.  The HSE have denied us any reimbursement under Primary Care Reimbursement Scheme as Ryan does not fall within the three listed categories but he never as his condition is so rare.

So then came Covid 19 which has stopped us from travelling and the only thing the Department of Health will do for Ryan is to have his three month medicines courier over from the Hague but we must pay upfront for this.

As a mother writing this asking for people to help us to raise the funds is the hardest part of motherhood as I genuinely do not have the money in my account to do this. Do not be able to provide for Ryan's medicines is the hardest pill to swallow as we have been doing it for this long our savings are gone.

We will continue to appeal to the HSE for funds to help maintain quality of life but in the meantime I have to ask you all can you please donate as little as 5 euro as every donation will make a big difference.  I know our target is high but I have faith in good decent human beings being able to help in any little way.

If anyone has any questions about Ryan and his treatment I am willing to answer.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart
