Raising money for a consultation to help my chronic pain
Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Stacey.
I'm fundraising for £300 to cover a consultation.
I'm 39 with three young boys aged 11,6 and 2.
For the past two years since a very challenging pregnancy and birth which included me getting ill with septis and my newborn going to resus and nicu, I have suffered with extreme widespread pain all over my body.
Several Tests and mri scans later and finding no cause for the pain I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia.
Fibromyalgia is an awful and debilitating condition that causes widespread pain, numbness, pins and needles, cramps, burning sensations, extremely itchy skin, painful to touch skin, brain fog and more.
There is little known on the condition and there isn't a cure for it.
I've seen doctors (tried many medications) and the pain management clinic and been told that that all they can do is help me come to terms and accept the pain and my life as it currently stands. As we all know the NHS is on its knees and if they can help it, not offer you treatments that I know they can do.
I myself have spent alot on alternative things to try and help myself with absolutely no luck.
I feel my only option is to seek help from a private pain clinic which I have spoken to and have said they have had some very good results with some new treatments they offer with other patients with fms.
These include:
Lidocaine infusions & IV ketamine infusions at £660 each
Trigger point injections at roughly £500 each.
These do not offer long term effects but last approx 1month and can make a dramatic difference to the pain.
I'm on my last rope where the pain is concerned, it's recently landed me in a&E, some days unable to walk and I spend a lot of time in bed as the pain becomes too unbearable.
It embarrasses me to open a go fund me page but I simply cannot afford the consultation fee so I am asking if you can to donate something towards the consultation which is £300.
In the consultation I will be examined to exclude any other causes for the pain and confirm that my diagnosis is definitely fibromyalgia and there's been no misdiagnosis with other conditions that present the same and then will talk about the treatments on offer for me.
Thet offer payment plans for the treatments which I may be eligible for so that is a road I will come across when it comes to it.
I just want some of my life back, being in so much pain day in and day out is slowly destroying me and this is my last ditch attempt to try and help myself for my sake and for the sake of my children who hate to see their mummy in pain and don't understand why I have to be in pain for the rest of my life.
Thankyou for taking the time to read my story and I appreciate any help you may offer.
Love Stace
