Hi. My son had major surgery on both hips within two months of each other. As he's in the service industry for a small local business, there is no paid leave or FMLA available. Instead, he lost his job because of the time off needed to recover. He doesn't qualify for disability. Because of no income, he's got no home. We've put him up for the last 6 weeks, but our house is being sold as we're moving out of town. He wants nothing more than to be healed, back at work and back in his own place- understandably so. However, with no income for the past several months, he's starting from deep in the hole and is beginning to feel like what's the point of it all? I hate to see his mental health suffer because of his physical health. He just needs help to recover and rebuild and if we all band together, we can make that a possibility.
