Dear prospective donors:

My name is Eitan Gobi, I am an American-Israeli Jew, born and raised in Los Angeles, California. My whole life I have fostered a deep connection with the ocean, and have been surfing since I was 7 years old. In recent years I have also developed a passion for peace, activism, and advocacy, specifically around the collective liberation of the peoples of the lands of the levant.

I am 17 years old, and currently a grade 12 student at Think Global School. The world's first and only Traveling High School. Traveling to 4 different countries per year. At Think Global I have had the opportunity to learn not just more about the world; it's cultures and people, but I have learned about my own home, and opened up to experiences, narratives, and truths that I never thought I could hold.

This has led me to here. My desire to break the division, the narratives, the programming that exists between the people of the SWANA region (South West Asia & North Africa). My intention lies in creating a community of people, where that division, those barriers, and illusions of separation can be broken. Using the ocean and the experience of surfing as a facilitator for peace, compassion, and unity.

The time has come to make this a reality! To do so I am partnering with Aqua Surf School , a renowned surf school rated #1 in SoCal. With Aqua Surf, I am creating an event that is taking place October 5th, 2025 in Santa Monica, LA. Where the intention that I touched on earlier will finally come to life.

9:30-11:30 there will be a community Surf lesson, all ages are welcome children + adults. From 11:30-1:30 we will have a post-surf circle, and then provide delicious catered lunch!

This has lead me to our funding goal, I am asking for a starting goal of $1,300 USD.

The majority of the funds ($900) will go to paying for Surf instructor's labor, time, and livelihood. The rest will go to providing free, healthy, and yummy Middle Eastern food for our lovely participants!

I implore prospective donors, this is where we make a change. Breaking the division between our communities, step by step, wave by wave. By donating to our cause you are not only making a positive impact on a group of 30 individuals for one Sunday in October at the beach in LA. You are making an impact on our communities at large, encouraging unity, understanding, and dialogue. This is where the peace starts, in the diaspora, through the people and their shared humanity.
