Mission statement

We are trying to bring music back onto broadcast tv.

Synopsis

A live music show where two Irish acts, whose music is rooted within a rhythm of diversity, will perform their own songs, before coming together to create something new and original.

About our Director

My name is Adelicia and I am the director of Roots of Rhythm. I am in my fourth and final year of television in IADT. During my time in IADT I have directed a number of ive broadcasts, the last being ‘Bram Stokers Dracula - Live From IADT’ (2025). Having the opportunity to direct a graduate live tv show is an honour I don’t take lightly. I am excited to see what we create because I believe in both myself and my amazing team.

Directors message

For me, Roots of Rhythm is a show that this world desperately needs. In a world where attitudes and opinions towards whats new is becoming ever more siloed . My team and I are determined to showcase the best of Irish music. We aim to bring to the screen all genres of Irish music no matter the background and culture it’s influenced by. We want to show a modern Ireland with original music. This is something I care about because music is a universal language that connects people from all walks of life. Roots of Rhythm will be that bridge between old and new.

Why This Matters

In today’s world, countless talented artists struggle to find a platform. Together, we want to break that barrier and change it by creating a a fresh and unique TV show. Offering not just stunning performances, but also the personal stories behind new and emerging artists as they find their voice. This is something rarely seen on screen, It’s raw, real, and unlike anything else out there. You the audience, will get to witness a brand-new track performed live for the very first time - giving you the ability to share with them a very precious moment.

Any donation is greatly appreciated!
