I met Shanice through a mutal friend some 8 years ago. At the time she was a high school student determined to fulfill her goals of becoming a medical professional, get married, have a family, etc. It was hard getting to know Shanice in the beginning because she has never been trusting of people and has experienced serious trauma. Over the years she has opened her heart and begin to trust people (with caution) and because of the that I have taken her in and adopted her as my niece.
About three years ago, Shanice was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Clear Cell Sarcoma. The tumors from the Sarcoma are in her intestines. It has been an uphill battle with treatment, doctors visits, and keeping her spirit up. But shes a fighter, and one of the most mature 25 years olds ive ever seen. Last year she gave her life to the lord and has been grounded in prayer and in the lords will ever since.
She checked herself in the hospital on 5/22 not feeling well. On Monday 5/24, the Oncology team announced that the cancer has taken up the majority of her liver, thus drastically shortening her timeline. The cancer is being very aggressive and she is told she has about 2 months to live before the sarcoma takes her entire liver and organ system.
She does not have life insurance and her circle of supporters would like to send her home with a nice celebration of life ceremony as well as take her on a short trip to Disneyland in the next two weeks before she is no longer able to travel. We want to work on fulfulling all of her wishes in this timeline.
Any form of support is greatly appreciated!
