Please can you help us raise money to pay for Whiskey’s life-saving lung surgery?
After a whole week of struggling to breathe, not sleeping a wink (and therefore collapsing whilst stood up from sheer exhaustion), inconclusive tests and unclear X-rays on her chest and lungs at local vets, she was finally referred to The Ralph veterinary hospital in Marlow. Thankfully, here, they discovered that the reason the X-rays had been unclear, was because she had 6 litres of air filling her chest cavity, which had leaked from a hole in her lungs.
Unfortunately, the initial fix didn’t last, so she needed an operation to remove and repair part of her lung.
We are keeping absolutely everything crossed that Whiskey is now on the road to recovery, but we are left with a very expensive lesson learnt, as we did not have pet insurance to cover the costs.
Whiskey’s final vet bill amounted to £9,500.
Can you help? We are desperately thinking of ways to help raise some money towards Whiskey’s surgery - and this page is now one of them. If you are able to make any contribution at all to help Whiskey have a few more happy and healthy years with us, we would be SO grateful for anything you are able to offer ❤️
Whiskey is very much the glue that holds my family together. I have two brothers with Autism aged 25 and 30 who both live at home with my Mum as their primary carer whilst they are unable to work full-time. She already works 2 jobs to support everybody, and we would all be lost without our “accidental therapy dog” to keep us going with cuddles and licks!
Thank you so much for anything you are able to donate.
Love from Ellen (and Whiskey) x
