Help to continue Ruben's medical treatment

We request help for RUBÉN DARÍO DEL RIO MENDEZ, a young Colombian, who studies with a partial scholarship at the NORTHWESTERNS STATE UNIVERSITY OF LOUSIANA, was diagnosed in September 2021 with a very strange GERM cancer, that rarely occur in young athletes. He had already received 37 chemotherapys and 2 bone marrow transplants.

With all the costs already taken we have run out of economic resources to make this posible. Rubén needs the support of many people who can and want to help with some contribution for the payment of his insurance and medical treatment.

His mother, who is is taking care of him, left his job in Colombia and is unable to work with a tourist Visa in the US. All our economic resources have already been exhausted

..Rubén is a young Colombian student with a partial scholarship at the NORTHWESTERNS STATE UNIVERSITY OF LOUSIANA, a nursing and music student, he is characterized by having very good grades and being very responsible with his university. He is currently undergoing an intensive cancer treatmen Unfortunately in September 2021 he was diagnosed with a little-known cancer, called: GERMINAL CELLS cancer, with multiple metastases in: lungs, bones and lymph nodes. Throughout these months he has received 37 very strong chemotherapies and underwent 2 bone marrow transplants, the last of which is currently undergoing.

Rubén, received the support of his parents for the payment of his lodging and the payment of the university, he worked on weekends and with that he paid his food and transportation expenses. Currently his mother, Martha Méndez, is 100% dedicated to Rubén, that due to his advanced state cannot be without a companion and in the hospital they demand that he have a relative all the time. For these reasons, his mother has not been able to work since November 2021 and all resources have been terminated.

Thanks to God and to life, the university has an insurance that covers a large percentage of Rubén's expensive treatment, he is hospitalized at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas, cared for and treated by a group of excellent doctors, highly recognized at the international level, in whom we blindly trust from day one (our lives will not be enough to thank them for everything they have done for Rubén).

The money invested, in co-payments for medications, treatments, surgeries, plane tickets, food, the second semester of 2021 and the first of 2022 at Rubén's university, immigration procedures to support our mother's stay, ubers for Rubén and many more expenses, have finished with our savings and resources.

For this reason we ask you and we come to you to help us.

It is becoming very difficult for us to find the money to pay for his university and therefore his medical insurance, these being essential to continue his treatment.

We greatly appreciate your collaboration, we also thank all the people who have been angels on our way, who have guided and helped us in all these hard months. It is not easy to go throught thid complex situation abroad.

Every day we see Rubén's health closer, we are sure that he will be able to do it. He is the strongest and fighter we have ever known, he always has a smile on his face for all of us, and he has a very big engine, he wants live, has many dreams to fulfill!
