Increase access for young pianists
Donation protected
This fundraiser is a chance for my friends and supporters to make a real difference to the artistic output of musicians, particularly young pianists at the start of their careers.
Professional pianists encounter the best concert grand pianos when they perform and record but many lack a high-quality instrument on which to practice, a reality that is also a huge issue for young musicians studying in London.
I want to help by increasing access for young students otherwise rehearsing on home uprights but expected to perform to the highest standards forthcoming exams, concerts and conservatoire entrance, by making available a good-quality Steinway piano to those in need.
If I reach my goal, I will further work with the National Youth Arts Trust, of which I am delighted to be Patron, and will set up a home-based recital series raising money for musical charities.
Please don't be shy if you cannot give much – every little helps – but I can offer several levels of cumulative benefits designed to bring you closer to my work:
£100+ A free copy of my next album (Naxos)
£250+ Acknowledgement on my website
£500+ Acknowledgement in the liner notes of my next album
£1000+ A 60-minute private recital at my home for 4 invited guests
I hope this offering will be of interest to anyone who is serious about supporting the arts.
Please see https://matthewschellhorn.com/causes/ for examples of my charitable work.
Thank you so much in advance.
