Missing Persons : Nicholas Degraff
A go-fund me page has been set up to help fund the cost of Private Divers- please support Nicholas Degraffs family at such a very difficult time, a time no family should have to endure.
Nicholas Degraff has been missing since 12th December 2021. Nicolas was on his way home from Clifton and last sighted at 5.12am on Sunday morning via cctv at Riverside Clifton, Workington walking home with his dog Leia, but did not return home. His dog Leia, a German Shepard was located along the river derwent not far from Clifton where he set off from, she was very agitated and did not want to leave the rivers edge.
Searches have been conducted as part of Cumbria Police with police dogs, checks in part of the river by divers and extensive searches from Nicholas’ family and friends and the wider community on a daily basis from morning to evening around the river derwent, Clifton, Workington, shorelines covering the west coast of Cumbria.
Nicholas jacket was sadly located in the river under Calva Brow, at Workington & recovered by divers. Confirmed by Nicholas sister Charlotte as his jacket.
Nicholas dog lead was also recovered from the river close to where it is believed he entered - by a private member of the public and has been confirmed as Leia’s dog lead.
Unfortunately despite best efforts from the dedication of Nicholas’s family and friends and local forces, Nicholas has not been recovered from the river derwent or any of the surroundings areas and today 22nd of December 2021 was the final day for the divers to complete searches in the river directed by Cumbria police constabulary, leaving Nicholas family devastated they cannot provide Nicholas with closure and lay him to rest at such a difficult time.
Cumbria constabulary are not able to offer any futher extensive searches to locate Nicholas at this time.
At the request of Nicholas' friends & go ahead from his family - a go fund me page has been set up to commission private divers to recover Nicholas and provide his family with the answers of his disappearance and closure.
A great thanks to all who have been involved and given there time to search for Nicholas. The family are exceptionally grateful for this and continue to be supportive off all involved in searching for their beloved son, brother and uncle.
Any donation no matter how small will go towards the family contracting private divers and investigators to recover Nicholas and lay him to rest. All donations will be paid direct to Nicholas’s sister Charlotte to commission the work and at the request of Charlotte any monies remaining will be donated to local charities.
Please donate if you can to bring Nicholas home!
