TNathan Fairley is asking for help to travel to Selma, Alabama on March 6-9, 2025, to commemorate and document the 60th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday.
The 60th anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery March and the signing of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 will be commemorated in Selma, Alabama with the 2025 Bridge Crossing Jubilee:
On this day, police, state troopers, and a citizen posse attacked unarmed civil rights marchers on the Edmund Pettus Bridge. The marchers were beaten with clubs, sprayed with tear gas, and had gas canisters thrown into the crowd. The event was captured on film and broadcast across the country, galvanizing support for voting rights. Six months later, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act into law.
Any support towards making this a reality is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
