Help Titus Come Home

Hi, my name is Titus. I am a 4 year old white and orange polydactyl kitty. I was found by my mom at 4 weeks old and covered in 89 fleas. After a trip to the vet and a bath I was brought home to meet my big brother Louie. I instantly became very attached to my brother and spoiled by my mom. 4 years later and 3 days from moving into our new home, I ended up in the hospital. I bet you are wondering how I got here.

36 hours ago my mom found me after I couldn’t get up to greet her when she got home from work. I had to leave my brother behind and be rushed to the emergency vet late at night to see what was happening. They discovered I had a blocked urethra and should be a routine case, but soon I would learn it wasn't going to be as simple as I thought. Over the next 6 hours, they attempted to place multiple catheters and were unsuccessful. After some time of rest, a new doctor came to try again with more medication and anesthesia. The catheter went far enough to dislodge a clot that allowed me to empty my bladder. However, the catheter was not fully placed and had to be removed. The doctors believed they had found a solution and that a simple surgery would clear the blockage, allow the catheter to pass and let me begin to heal. Finally, I thought I was going home. My mom had to unexpectedly gather another $7,000 additional funds on top of the $3,500 already paid for the original procedure. Going into the next night, my mom got a call that wasn't as optimistic as before. The doctor said there was concern that they wouldn't be able to get a catheter through even with surgery due to potential tearing or genetic mutation. Surgery was my last hope, but the outcome was unsure. But, we had to try everything in our power, and I headed into surgery.

After 3 hours of surgery, my mom got a call at 3 in the morning with the results. The surgery was a success. The doctors cheered and danced, and my mom was speechless. The tough part was over, but I had a long road ahead of me. Due to a small tear in my urethra, I must remain in the hospital for 7 days receiving fluids, pain medication and much needed healing time. Once I’m allowed to go home, I will begin to regain my strength with my brother by my side and a brand new diet for the rest of my long life.

I understand these are challenging times for everybody. Any little bit helps with my long recovery. Anything you can donate will be going to my medication, procedures, surgery and recovery. If you raise any additional funds, it will go towards my new food plan and convincing my mom to buy me new treats. Thank you for any help you can offer.
