Help Tishan Recover from Devastating Accident in Sri Lanka

We are reaching out to you to support our cousin and friend Tishan, 18 years old, who recently experienced a life-changing accident in Walgama, Sri Lanka. While riding in a TukTuk, Tishan suffered a severe crash with a van that left him with a broken thigh bone and shinbone. He is now in a hospital in Galle, Sri Lanka, over 1.5 hours away from his hometown, recovering from surgery. Unfortunately, there is a risk that one of the nerves in his leg may be permanently damaged, which would further complicate his recovery and future mobility.

The hospital conditions are far from ideal—family members must assist with basic care, such as changing his bedding and providing support. To ensure Tishan receives proper attention, a family member needs to stay nearby in Galle, which means paying for accommodation for the next couple of weeks or month.

Tishan’s accident has placed immense strain on his family. He was working at a restaurant to support his father and two younger brothers. With Tishan unable to work, his family has now lost their source of income. His father now has to stay in Galle and someone has to care for the younger boys, making it impossible for the father to earn money.

Adding to the financial burden, the TukTuk involved in the accident - belonging to Tishan’s friend - was totaled and now needs to be paid off.

We are seeking your support to:

- Pay for accommodation in Galle so a family member can assist him during his recovery.

The accident occurred on a day when Tishan had been helping tirelessly at a memorial for his uncle, who passed away two years ago.
