Hi, my name is Shoshana, and I’m raising funds to help my cousins tiny puppy, Diego, who is currently fighting for his life in the veterinary ICU.

Diego was born on June 22, 2026, to my dogs Honeybear and Barry and was hand-raised in my home. He currently weighs just 1.5 kg—a tiny puppy with a huge fight ahead of him.

Diego came into our family during an incredibly difficult time. Just 8 days before he was born, Aaliyah lost her beloved dog, Buttercup, after nearly 16 years together. My uncle brought Diego into Aaliyah’s life hoping to give her a little happiness after such a heartbreaking loss. He could never replace Buttercup, but he quickly became a new source of love and hope for Aaliyah.

This year has already brought our family so much heartache. My uncle also had to say goodbye to his beloved Lab, Hunter, and the financial burden of those losses has been difficult. To make matters worse, my uncle is currently unable to work due to medical reasons.

Now, just when Diego was supposed to be bringing some light back into Aaliyah’s life, we are fighting to keep him here.

Diego was playing with his brother and ended up playing a little too hard. Diego suffered a serious puncture wound to his neck and head, as well as bruised ribs.

At only 1.5 kg, these injuries are especially serious. Diego is now fighting for his life in the ICU, receiving round-the-clock emergency veterinary care.

Diego’s veterinary bills have already reached $10,000. Funds raised will help cover his ICU care, treatment, medications, procedures, and ongoing veterinary expenses.

We are doing everything we can to give this tiny fighter a chance. But the financial burden has become more than our family can manage alone.

Diego has already been through so much in his short life. He deserves the chance to grow up, play, be spoiled, and give Aaliyah the love and companionship he was brought into her life to share.
