Our dad, Valentin 'Tino' Ramos III has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Double Hit Lymphoma and needs help getting funding for treatment. Dad was diagnosed August 1st, 2021 and is no longer able to work and cannot afford health insurance. We have endured one heck of a fight thus far. His team of doctors fought hard to get him inside funding from the hospital, but they were not able to obtain coverage.

 

It was stated during his last visit with the oncologist that it's imperative Dad start chemo treatment immediately due to his cancer being aggressive. The cancer originated in his abdominal area and has spread and is now attacking his spine and liver. The doctors need payment up front to start any treatment and Dad needs help as he does not have healthcare coverage and the family finances are already strained. Our mom, Tronda, has been the sole provider for our household since August.

 

Tino is a father of 4 and grandfather and this crushing diagnosis is hard to navigate alone for our mom. It's been devastating for my siblings and I to watch Mom try to be strong as we watch my dad get sicker and smaller. Mom and Dad have been together since they were in their teens and he is her best friend; Losing him is unfathomable. This has been a very hard pill to swallow and we are still trying to wrap our heads around all of this and it just seems to keep moving faster.
