A small update for sharing previews - Tina passed at 11:54am on January 4th.

Heyo - This is Tina's kid, Alaina.

She's still kicking, but the news is bad regardless.

Right before Thanksgiving, my mom had seen her PCP and had a CT scan that revealed a significant sized growth/tumor in her uterus. Over Thanksgiving she was in the hospital with diabetic ketoacidosis and had lost much of her strength. I visited that weekend and helped around, but not long after I left she was back in the hospital and was transferred to the Seidman Cancer Center in Cleveland, where she's been since Dec. 9th.

She has cancer that's metasized to her liver, lungs, spine, and bones. The cancer is incurable and she's at a stage with it where there isn't a treatment option due to severity and how it would make her sicker. She's currently in 'comfort care' hospice and we're just trying to make things as painless as possible for as long as we've got her left, which isn't likely to be long.

I know she's so loved by the friends and people she's met and known over the years. I'm devastated that, sometime in the far-closer-than-I-would-ever-think future here, I'm not going to have my mom. I'm devastated she's not going to be that force of nature in anyone else's life anymore, either. It's heartbreaking and frustrating and maddening.

That said, this GoFundMe is to help the family with end of life care, as well as any arrangements needed when she passes.

For some further background, for those who may not be in the know, my Kom lost her husband, Bud, from esophageal cancer at the end of July this year, so this has been a tumultuous six months for the family, and doubly so for her.
