My mom, Tina, is truly the kindest person I know. She’s always the first to lend a hand to anyone in need, and she has a way of lifting up everyone around her—even when she’s facing her own struggles. Tina’s trusting nature and big heart have always been her strengths, but recently, they led her into a situation that turned our world upside down.
Tina was working for someone she believed she could trust, but on December 9, everything changed. The police raided her workplace and arrested her for unknowingly working at an illegal gambling room. She had no idea what was really going on, and her boss, who promised to help and told her it was legal, has since disappeared. The story even made the local news, adding to the stress and uncertainty we’re facing. Now, with Tina unable to find a work and no support from her employer, our family is struggling to keep up with the mortgage and basic needs and court costs. My brother, a single father, is doing his best to care for his kids, and I’m working through my own medical issues just to help us get by. We’re relying on food banks, our only car is breaking down, and the holidays have been especially hard with nothing extra for Christmas.
We’re reaching out for help because we’re at a loss for what to do next. Any support you can give will help us keep our home, provide for Tina’s grandchildren, and get us through this incredibly tough time. Thank you for reading our story and for any kindness you can share. Your support would mean the world to us and help us find hope again.
