About two months ago, a little feral cat turned up on my doorstep, having discovered a food source through my cat doors. She started sleeping under a tree near my front door, and it quickly became clear that she had decided to stay. As the weather turned colder, I brought her into my studio, keeping her separate from my two resident cats. I named her Tina Turnip because she just turned up at my door, and she’s about two years old—super sweet and trusting despite her rough start in life.

Not long after, I noticed Tina was excessively grooming and treated her for fleas and ticks. When her eyes became irritated, I took her to the vet, where she tested negative for mange and received vaccinations and antibiotics. Unfortunately, her eye condition worsened, and after several vet visits and treatments, an ophthalmologist diagnosed her with entropion—a condition where her eyelids curl inward, causing severe discomfort and risking permanent eye damage. Surgery is the only way to relieve her pain and protect her vision.

I don’t have pet insurance for Tina Turnip, and this pre-existing condition wouldn’t be covered even if I did. I’ve already spent a lot on her care, but I have no regrets. I truly believe Tina Turnip found me for a reason, and I want to give her the healthy, happy life she deserves. Any support for her surgery would mean the world to both of us.
