This is Tina. She's been a cook for the past 18 years and she loves what she does. She's worked hard through the pandemic at Kick Butt Coffee to bring new dishes to our menu, and update some old recipes. Tina's work has helped us rebuild our lunch crowd, and she's an important part of our team.

Tina's also a big music fan (she ran her own record label once upon a time!) and that doubly makes her part of our Kick Butt family. If you get the chance, ask her about her favorite metal bands and who she's seen live.

But right now Tina is in a hospital bed. She's been there since June 11th. She developed a terrible infection in her leg that required surgery to have part of it removed. Her medical team first thought they'd have to amputate, but luckily the infection did not spread to the bone. But they did have to take out enough for Tina to need an additional skin grafting surgery for her to recover and walk again.

Tina is a 54-year-old trans woman with no family and no support network. She's worked incredibly hard to finally have an apartment in her own name, and now she's at risk of losing it while she's out of work. We don't want that to happen. She could be out of work for another 6 weeks, if all goes well, and she needs all the help she can get for living expenses, medical equipment, medicine, and the hospital bills that will come after all this is over.
