Help Tina Fryling's Son Mason Fight Leukemia

I'm Crystal O'Keefe, and I'm raising money for a good friend of mine named Tina Fryling.

Tina and her family were all set to have a great senior year for her son, and he was figuring out which college he wanted to go to. And then... last week, the whole family got the flu. Of course, they all felt like crap, but her son was feeling weak. So they made the trek to the emergency room and took him to the ER Sunday night. They admitted him—his white cells and platelets were way out of whack. They gave him a blood transfusion. Then, yesterday afternoon, they did a bone marrow biopsy. By 4:00 on Monday, he had been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

They immediately transferred him from Erie to Pittsburgh Children's Hospital, which is two hours away. Today, he got a port put in and a line for drawing spinal fluid that will consistently allow them to get cells from his spine to check.

The doctors plan to start chemo immediately for at least 8 days, then predict 2 years of treatment. While they are in an amazing hospital and very grateful to be there, it is still an out-of-network hospital for their insurance. I would love to help Tina and her family by raising money for medical expenses, travel expenses, and all of the awful things that come with this terrible disease.

Life has completely flipped for the Frylings in 24 hours. Sunday, he was a happy 4.6 GPA kid looking forward to graduation and going on a college visit this weekend—and now we're here. Every day seems like 10 days.
