A very dear friend has passed on and his family could really use a little help. Joey Pearce is one of the first people my wife and I became friends with seven years ago when we moved to Florida. He was very outgoing and loved nothing more than being with his family and friends. Especially his wife Tina and their kids.

On Friday August 29, Joey went to the school bus stop to pick up the girls that he and his wife have started the process of adopting, and was found unresponsive in his car by the older of the two. Despite the best efforts from passersby, emergency response and the hospital staff, Joey was placed on life support and his prognosis was poor. Once all measures were taken, Joey was taken off life support surrounded by family and made his final journey home on Tuesday September 2nd at 4:17pm.

The unexpected loss to this family is immeasurable, funeral costs along with now being the sole provider for the children, continuing the adoption process to ensure this family doesn’t suffer any more loss and just the everyday expense of having your world turned upside down should not be the forefront of Tina’s worries as she navigates this new reality.

We are asking for any help you may be able to provide to cover the funeral costs and help keep this family together. We all know Joey, “Huckelberry” as he was known as by many of us, would do the same for all of us.
