Important Update & Continued Support Needed

 I wanted to share a deeper update so everyone can truly understand what this season looks like for our family and why this recovery time is so important.

 As many of you know, my husband will be donating his kidney to me, the greatest act of love and sacrifice. Our transplant is planned to take place after I graduate nursing school in May, a milestone I have fought incredibly hard to reach while living with end-stage kidney failure.

 After my transplant, I will be placed on lifelong immunosuppressant medications to prevent rejection. These medications save my life, but they also significantly weaken my immune system, especially in the first several months. Because of this, I cannot safely begin working as a nurse right away after graduation. Hospitals expose staff to constant infections, and returning too soon could put my new kidney, and my life, at risk. My doctors have made it clear that recovery, monitoring, and protecting my immune system must come first.

 At the same time, my husband will also be recovering after donating his kidney, meaning he will be unable to work as well.
 We are parents to two young children, and everything we are doing, every hard decision, every sacrifice, is for them. We want to be present, healthy, and able to continue providing a stable home while we heal. This is why we are asking for help with food and basic household bills like rent, utilities, groceries, and transportation during this recovery period.

 This season is temporary, but it is critical.
