Help Tim Celebrate His Mom’s Life and Legacy

My name is Tim and I’m humbly requesting support for my family as we work to honor the life and legacy of my mama, Donna Amos. On 2 Jul at 8:38pm, mom went home to be Jesus and be united with her husband, and friends and family. 

Dad had passed away from a long fight with cancer on 28 May 2024. Mom had taken care of him selflessly for over four years. Her heart was broken as they were so very in love for over four decades. We believe that mom had a heart attack around the year anniversary of his death and unfortunately her true complications weren’t diagnosed until 19 June. On 20 June, mom had open heart surgery to repair a failed valve. By then she had been battling tremendous pain and discomfort due to fluid on the lungs. 

Though the surgery was a success thanks to the wonderful doctors at Tri Star Centennial Hospital in Nashville, she was only able to wake up from intubation and sedation for one day. Thanks be to God that I was able to be with her on that day. The rest of the time she remained on a ventilator and sedated. 

Ultimately mom’s lungs and kidneys just couldn’t recover and she passed peacefully in the company of me, my brother, and my wife. It was a heart wrenching moment to watch mom take her last breath. But God is good and we know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We know without a shadow of a doubt that mom was welcomed immediately into the glory of heaven by Jesus and dad. I know that she heard the Lord say, “well done my good and faithful servant.” We know that there is no longer any hurt, worry, or sadness in mom’s spirit. She is home. 

We will miss so very much. Mom was our rock. She was our loving ear always and most importantly, she was our selfless, forever loving mama and Mamaw. She lived an extraordinary life that most people could not imagine. She was a woman of incredible faith, determination, and character. We will be telling the stories of her amazing life for decades to come. She was truly inspirational. 

Currently I’m trying to close up loose ends on mom’s earthly life while preparing her and dad’s burial. Unfortunately, for us, mom didn't plan very well. Mom didn't have life insurance, a Will, POA, or much in savings. I'm currently the primary for funding all of mom's end of life plans plus an incurred debt. In short, we need assistance.
