Our names are Cedrick and Essence, and we are writing this on behalf of our nephew. On May 25th 2025, his life was changed forever when he was the victim of a devastating car accident caused by a drunk driver.
TJ was on his way home from work, when a driver, later found to be under the influence, hit him. The impact was severe, and he sustained critical injuries.
Among his injuries, Tj suffered a tracheal transection, which is a complete tear of his windpipe, as well as multiple broken bones. This very serious injury required immediate, life-saving surgery.
While we are incredibly grateful that he survived, his road to recovery is long and challenging. He's already had to undergo multiple surgeries and is now facing extensive therapies.
The physical injuries are only part of this ordeal. The emotional and psychological trauma from this senseless act is immense. The financial burden is quickly becoming overwhelming, and that's why we've set up this GoFundMe.
The funds raised will go directly to help Tj with the significant costs of his recovery, including:
Medical Expenses: Covering co-pays, deductibles, and the high costs of ongoing doctor's visits and specialist care.
Therapy: This includes essential physical therapy and occupational therapy to help him regain his strength and mobility.
Living Expenses: As he is unable to work for the foreseeable future, these donations will help with basic living costs, so he can focus completely on healing without the added stress of financial worry.
Tj is a hardworking and ambitious young man who dreams of one day becoming a police officer. It breaks our hearts to see his future put on hold because of someone else's reckless decision.
Any donation, no matter the size, will make a tangible difference in his ability to recover and heal. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this post with your friends and family. Your support, prayers, and positive energy mean the world to us.
Thank you so much for your generosity and care during this difficult time.
