We’re reaching out to ask for help for our son, Timmy. Timmy is a very happy, goofy, loving, and fun child who brings so much light into our lives. He has nonverbal autism, and while he expresses himself in his own beautiful ways, it also means he needs extra support to stay safe—especially at night.

One of our biggest challenges is keeping Timmy safe while he sleeps. He is at risk of wandering and doesn’t understand danger the way other children might. He often climbs on furniture, including his dresser, which puts him at risk of falling or getting hurt. This is something we worry about every single night. We have tried to get help through our health insurance, but our claims for a safety bed have been denied. We’ve done everything we can on our own, but we’ve reached a point where we truly need support.

We are trying to purchase a specialized safety bed designed for children with needs like Timmy’s. This bed would give him a secure, enclosed space to sleep, help prevent wandering, and keep him safe throughout the night. We are asking for help from our community to make this possible for Timmy.
