Dear friends -- I am writing to you with a vulnerable request for your support to help me raise some funds to carry me through the next month.

Over the past several months, it feels like I have experienced several lifetimes. For those who don't already know, I am currently on a roadtrip of sorts, visiting friends and exploring different parts of the country. But the truth of it is that the circumstances of my life in Chicago became untenable late last year.

As a result of my advocacy calling for an end to our government's complicity with the genocide in Gaza, my life got turned upside down. Many of the very institutions I was a part of within the advocacy world have, unfortunately, played a big role in this upheaval. I have been subjected to death threats, physiological torture, financial exploitation, and even an attempt on my life. This is just a general snapshot of the experiences and attempts to slowly but surely chip away at my will to live.

Despite my attempts to keep myself safe, my home apartment, my social circles and even my body has been subjected to levels of repression and surveillance that have made Chicago a source of severe trauma, pain and grief. Currently, I am unemployed and leaning on meager support from my mother, but I am need of some short-term support as I get back on track and await a few prospects coming up the pipe in May.

Despite the challenges, my time on the road has also been healing - a sort of DIY sabbatical of sorts that has brought unexpected opportunities to learn more about myself and more about other places in the US. With your help, I will also be able to visit a number of few friends in different States doing critical work. So, I humbly ask if you can chip in to help me cover the costs of this transitional moment I've found myself in.
