Help Timisha fight Stage 4 breast cancer
Hi, I’m Jo McEnroe, and I’m posting this Go Fund Me for my dear friend, Cheri Young, and her 33 year old daughter (Timisha Young) who was recently diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. As a mom, I can’t imagine a worse event to traverse with my daughter. I’ve known Timisha since she was a young girl, and my urgent hope is to help her with financial burdens, so they are not another issue she has to face.
Timisha has been a nature lover all of her life and finds great joy in sharing this devotion with anyone around her. She began volunteering for the Fish and Wildlife Service at the age of 11 working family events and the annual Migration Celebration, and this service became her passion. As she became an adult, she worked with groups of 4th and 7th graders who arrived at the Brazoria Wildlife Refuge in busloads wide-eyed and curious. Her young adult journey took her to Texas A&M and then jobs throughout the country from Colorado to North Carolina. She was never happier than when she was able to enjoy what nature had to give.
During the summer of 2020, Timisha found a lump in her breast and went to a gynecologist who failed to order any kind of diagnostic scans, but rather he wrote off the lump as a benign cyst. Fast forward nine months and with a new job and a move back to College Station, she is ready to take on the world. During her fist visit with a new gynecologist, Timisha mentions the lump in her breast. Tests were ordered immediately. The diagnosis: Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer with lesions on her liver, lymph nodes, bones, and spine. She and her family were devastated. Why hadn’t the other gynecologist caught this in time? A few simple scans would have made the difference between a curable cancer and a terminal one.
Timisha has begun aggressive treatment, which will soon render her unable to work full-time meaning she will lose her medical insurance. To make matters worse, as a new employee in her current job, she does not qualify for FMLA assistance. Her mom has put her real estate career on hold so she can make the long drive to be by Timisha’s side whenever needed. Please help Timisha ensure that the only battle she wages is the one against cancer.
Timisha has a heart of gold, and she is set on working as long as she can while fighting this terminal illness. She has incredible doctors in Bryan/ College Station, and she wants to continue living independently and with access to these great physicians for as long as possible. She would also like a chance to once again seek the beauty that is only found in nature.

Ladies, breast self-exams are so important. If you feel a lump, please advocate for yourself. And if you don’t know how to self-examine, please read more @https://www.breastcancer.org/symptoms/testing/types/self_exam.
