Have you ever received life changing news? This happened to my family when my uncle (Tim) was taken to the emergency room on Tuesday July 21st. Tim had been experiencing stomach and back pain which was the purpose of this ER trip. Doctors decided to send him for a CAT scan, trying to pinpoint the cause of the body pain. Once the results of the CAT scan were reviewed, Tim had to be admitted for further scans as it was suspected he had prostate cancer. An MRI, and bone scan was then done which confirmed this and much more. His immediate family asked for a second opinion, as this news was very hard to take. The second oncologist confirmed the prostate cancer had metastasized and gone into the bones involving the pelvis, spine, ribs, sternum, shoulders, lower legs including femurs. After hearing this heartbreaking news the family decided to proceed with radiation treatment and Tim remained in the hospital the next 4 days alone due to covid. The oncologist then informed the family there was nothing else that could be done and they would keep him as comfortable as they could for the remainder of Tim’s life. As you can imagine this news unacceptable when you have a loved one. Tim has since then been referred to the Cleveland clinic awaiting an appointment for treatment plans. As this news came as a shock, expenses were not factored in. Medical bills have already began coming in as well as travel expenses going to the Cleveland clinic. Myfamily will have a long road ahead of them and any donation, prayer, and positive vibes would be incredible to send their way as you feel led to do so.
