Help Tim Williams, Our Family’s Coach and Umpire, Fight
Donation protected
I’m Jesse Williams, and I’m reaching out for my dad, Tim Williams—a man who’s been the heart of our family and community his whole life. Dad’s the funniest, most outgoing guy you’ll meet. For 40 years, he umpired baseball games, earning a Lifetime Achievement Award for his fairness and spirit. He coached me, my brother, and my two sisters—who now live out of state—in every sport we played: basketball, baseball, football, whatever we wanted to try. When he wasn’t coaching, he was in the stands cheering us on. Late nights at games and early mornings driving a garbage truck for Recology—he did it all to provide for us.
That all changed on January 13, 2025. While working, just weeks from retirement, Dad felt intense chest pain. Thinking it was a heart attack, he pulled his truck over at a fire station. An ambulance rushed him to the ER, where tests revealed Stage 4B metastatic prostate cancer. It’s spread to his lungs and bones, and doctors say it’s incurable. Since that day, he’s been out of work, navigating bureaucracy for disability benefits that haven’t come through. No income since January has left him struggling.
Dad started chemo last Tuesday, alongside hormone therapy, to slow the cancer and give us more time with him. So far, he’s handling it well—but this fight is just beginning. My brother, uncle, and grandpa are helping, but we need more. Dad’s always been there to serve his family and community—coaching kids, umpiring games, working hard. Now, I’m asking our family and community to answer the call in his time of need.
We’ve set a $1 goal as a symbolic placeholder because every penny helps—medical bills, chemo costs, living expenses—it all adds up. Whether it’s $5 or $50, your donation lets Dad focus on fighting, not finances. If you ever played on his team, swung at his calls, or waved at his truck, please give what you can or share this. He’s my hero, and we’re not ready to lose him. Thank you.
