Help Tim Werner Win Against ALS
Tim Werner was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease in November of 2018 at the age of 35. We would like to help Tim and his wife Stephanie with current and future unexpected financial burdens brought on with this diagnosis.
A little background : Tim grew up in rural New Paris, Indiana. One of 6 children, (he's the tallest one in the back row cover photo of the 6 Werner siblings) Tim was a multi-sport athlete at Fairfield High School in Goshen Indiana, class of 2002. Tim received his BS degree in Elementary Education in 2006 and in 2012 received his MA degree in Building Level Administration from University of Indianapolis – UINDY #gogreyhounds . Tim married the love of his life, Stephanie (Leamon) Werner from West Noble High School in Ligonier, Indiana in 2006.
They have a long journey ahead of them but we can help ease the burden by supporting them through this journey. 100% of anything donated will go to them for current and upcoming medical expenses associated with ALS.
There is no cause, no cure, no proven treatment for ALS. It's a progressive disease that takes away a person’s limb control, speech, swallowing, chewing, and breathing. ALS affects the upper and lower motor neurons which causes muscle weakness. The average life-span of a person with ALS is 2-5 years.
Tim has limb onset, which has affected his hands, shoulders, and hips. ALS has taken away most of the use of his fingers and his ability to walk without a cane or powerchair. Despite this dismal diagnosis, ALS has not been able to take away Tim’s spirit and hope for his future. Tim is fighting this battle and not letting it take away his life.
