Dear Friends and Family of Tim --
My longtime friend Tim Sullivan is currently in San Vicente Rehabilitation Center after having a severe bout of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder and a bad flu that severely impacted his breathing and caused great fatigue. He was admitted at Cedars-Sinai Hospital for two weeks and is currently battling back and continues to get stronger every day.
He is feeling better now, and his family and friends are rallying around to have him move back home to his beloved apartment in West Hollywood -- and Tim really wants to get back home.
Randol, Tim's long time friend and partner, has been great in taking care of Tim and helping as much as he can. We are also lining up resources that are available to help Tim get back home and take care of home care and making the apartment easier for Tim to get around safely.
Tim has spent the better part of his life helping others, from his sponsorship and mentorship of hundreds of people over the years, to his much-heralded work at the famous Timothy Jay Candles, which provided jobs and a safe place to work for so many people.
The candle shop is coming to a close and we are reaching out to raise funds to help Tim at this time of great need. This GoFundMe for Tim will go toward:
- Helping with his transition back to his apartment;
- Helping to provide in-home assistance for light housekeeping and mobility assistance;
- Paying extraordinary costs of health care and unanticipated expenses;
- Providing support to Tim so that he can have peace of mind at this difficult time of recovery;
- Helping with some modifications at the apartment with hand rails and safety barriers;
- Helping to move out some of the furniture and other items that will open up space;
- Funds for daily living and expenses.
I know our community will rally around Tim at this time of great need. Please help in any way you can — no donation is too small and it's a great time to say thanks to Tim for his many decades of service to our community.
With love and gratitude....
