Help Tim Stegall See His Doctors This Month.

Hey, friends! Tim Stegall here. You know me for my writing at The Tim "Napalm" Stegall Substack, or The Austin Chronicle or Alternative Press. Some may know me as leader of the Austin punk band The Hormones.

This isn’t easy to ask. I know many of you have helped me recently, and I’m incredibly grateful. I wouldn’t be doing this again if it weren’t absolutely necessary. But I have not been able to see my eye doctor for two years. As a contact lens wearer, the state of Texas requires an annual eye exam on disposable lenses prescriptions. I had a large surplus of lenses I have been using, but it ran out eight months ago. I have been on the same pair since New Year's Day, and unable to either get the necessary annual checkup nor re-up of my prescription.

I also have broken rear molar hanging in mouth, making eating difficult and keeping me in constant pain. This has been going on since last November, and it needs to be pulled!

What’s going on:

My hours at my day job were cut this spring, and I haven’t been able to make up the difference yet. I’m doing what I can—writing musician bios, finishing my second book, keeping The Tim “Napalm” Stegall Substack running at full fire—but those things pay out slowly. Rent doesn’t.

Every dollar I earn helps keep my lease current, keeps the lights on, the phone active, the wi-fi operational, and me working—writing, researching, and finishing what I’ve started. There's nothing left for medical, and no--I have no insurance at the moment.

That’s why I’m asking for help this month. Just enough to close the gap and keep me healthy.
