Help Tim Schroeder Rebuild After Amputation

This is Tim Schroeder. In the past few months, he has been fighting an infection in his foot. He has regularly been seeing a wound care specialist in an effort in that fight. Unfortunately, in early July, we received a call with some of the “worst case scenarios” we were able to come up with. The infection had spread from the wound itself into the bone. Being a diabetic, this isn’t an uncommon issue, but it is severe and potentially life-threatening. In order to get control of the situation, he was admitted to the hospital and underwent an amputation of the infected bone.

Thankfully, the surgery itself went well, and he was sent to recover in a physical rehabilitation facility in order to continue his treatment and start his recovery. He has since been released into the care of his daughters.

Unfortunately, we received news earlier this week that his short-term disability claim was denied, meaning that the income he has been counting on to support himself will not be coming. Without this income, he risks losing his home, vehicle, and a decline in his general health.
