Help Tim Recover from Unexpected Surgery

If you know my husband Tim, you know he’s a very dedicated, blue collar hard working man. He never misses a day regardless of how he is feeling unless he is absolutely forced to.

He works for a terrific small company who treats their employees well and he loves what he does. He works so hard for our family and he’s been the main provider for the last two years while I work very part time, slowly build my business, work towards my new career and raise our babies.

Unfortunately he’s been facing some sudden and unexpected health concerns that has altered his way of life. He was diagnosed with complicated diverticulitis that requires surgery ( 9 spots of diverticulitis to be exact throughout his colon) He will now need to have surgery to remove part or most of his colon on September 19th ( new date, last paragraph for updates) . The urgency of this surgery on top of the diagnosis he received was very unexpected.
With surgery comes up to 6+ weeks recovery time where he will need to be out of work (unpaid), it could be more depending on if they find anything additionally. He will be admitted to the hospital following surgery and he will need around the clock care once he’s home during those 6 weeks.. ( I will be taking care of him myself once he’s home)
We are in process of looking at short term disability but you all know how long that process can take.

Tim was admitted for four days back in March with a bad infection, colon perforation and the diagnosis, since then has developed other health concerns. He then had to go to the ER multiple times throughout the summer for flare ups.

Tim has been pushing through and working up to the week of surgery as hard as it's been and will be eager to get back to work once he is healed.

This time has been a bit stressful and has come at us all at once.

Funds will go towards living expenses and any medical supplies he needs while he is out of work as well as towards the medical bills.

It’s hard to ask for help as we know this economy is affecting everyone around us, but please know that if you are able to help support us in any way during his recovery, we are extremely grateful.

As you know if you've kept up with our posts, Tim was supposed to have surgery in June and it was postponed due to an issue with his liver where he got a syndrome diagnosis. It was then pushed out to July but he had another bad flare up beforehand, therefore showed too much inflammation to go through surgery. It has been such a hard summer So they had to put him on antibiotics again. Tim has had to be on antibiotics for two months now which has made the waiting process for surgery much harder. We are approaching surgery day this coming Friday.
