Our brother Tim’s historic home, built over 200 years ago by a freed slave, has always been more than just a house—it’s a living piece of history and a labor of love. On March 7th,2026 a devastating fire left his home condemned and underinsured. The flames and firefighting efforts destroyed not only the structure but also many of the unique handcrafted features that made the home so special. Only the dwelling was insured, and not for the pre-fire value, leaving Tim responsible for replacing smoke-damaged furniture, personal belongings and facing the extra costs of restoring the home’s historic details.
Tim is a true craftsman and a lover of all things old—cars, trucks, barns, and especially his home. Every repair and addition he’s made over the past 40 years has honored the home’s legacy, using traditional methods and materials. Now, nearly everything must be custom made and installed by skilled artisans. Including the hand-hewn windows and beams to the floors that must be cut and scribed to fit the home’s unique shape. The loss is not just financial, but deeply personal, as Tim watched the fire and the efforts to save his home destroy his life’s work.
Despite these challenges, Tim remains optimistic, calling this 'just another hurdle in the track meet of life.' He’s always been the first to help others, and now he needs a little help himself. Your support will help Tim with temporary housing, daily living expenses, and the monumental task of making the repairs needed to restore his beloved home at a time when most Senior Citizen’s are laying back, Tim (@ 70 yrs old) is ready to take this on and see it thru to the finish line. Any contribution, big or small, will make a world of difference as Tim works to rebuild and preserve this important piece of history.
