Ovarian cancer killed my aunt, a drug overdose killed my cousin.
Hi, my name is Bobby and I started this fundraiser in support of my uncle Tim. He has gone through such difficult times with his wife dying of ovarian cancer and his oldest daughter dying from a drug overdose. Expenses from the cancer treatments literally took everything they had I'm hoping that a new start will be a life changing experience for him. He needs to move to an apartment by the 15th of July I know that's moving very quickly. Please read what I have gleaned from my uncle. I know it all to be true, he didn't want me to ask others to give him a helping hand (he's a very hard working and independent man) he is now living on less than $1400 a month Social Security I'm sure you understand this does not allow him to make it on his own, he will need your help. Thank you for taking the time to read his story. Perhaps you can help. May God richly bless you.
Ovarian cancer took his wife of 47 years in in a loving and caring relationship. Chemotherapy was hell on wheels. All the doses did not work for her and made her terribly sick and in much pain. He remembers the day so clearly when the doctor said there's nothing else, they could do. She had very little time left and died in agony. At one point she could not breathe, and the doctors removed 4 liters of fluid from her lungs, that was only the first time and in total Took over 9 liters. Each procedure was extremely painful and broke his heart to see her go through such terrible and agonizing pain. It was harder than he ever thought possible to watch someone who you love so dearly die day by day. Two months before she passed away, she cried to him saying she did not want to die he didn't know what to say it seemed that all his words we're so trite all he could do was hold her.
All his prayers seemed to fall on deaf ears. His faith was challenged like nothing before.
One year earlier his daughter died from a drug overdose, now that took second place to what they had in store for them. No one should ever have to watch one of their children die. He thought it was the hardest challenge they would ever face, not knowing what the future held for them.
Cancer treatment took all that they had, their home, savings, retirement, even their vacation money. They had saved money for a vacation to use on their 50th anniversary which they never made. They were able to take a trip from Michigan to Main, his wife always wanted a main lobster, it wasn't much but they were so thankful.
After the cancer treatment expenses, he was left destitute, he now has less than $1000 in a bank account. He is trying to save but living on less than $1400 makes it virtually impossible. He now realizes he will have to depend on friends and family just to be able to afford an apartment he was hoping to save enough money for a down payment on a small home (in his area he can purchase a home for less than 150,000) he now realizes that dream will never come true. Over the years as a husband-and-wife team were able to help dozens of people financially. He now finds it terribly embarrassing to have to ask others for help. I believe he needs between $10,000 and $20,000 in order to make a positive change in his life, he told me he could always make it on less by renting instead of leasing. However, leasing will protect him against unexpected rental price increases.
If you can help, please do. As you can imagine we all need to move very quickly to make this happen for my uncle. Maybe together we can change his life.
Any additional funds will provide him with a safety net and a sense of security that he so richly deserves.
