Our dad, Tim, has always been the one to help others—whether as a firefighter, a state fire marshal, or a neighbor lending a hand. Recently, our parents’ garage caught fire, and in a matter of hours, our dad lost not only his workspace, but also the tools and materials that fueled his passion for leatherworking. In the last year, Dad found great joy in his craft, pouring his heart into every project and taking pride in seeing others enjoy his work. His new business and hobby brought him so much happiness, and he was proud to share his creations with the community.
The fire didn’t just take away tools and leather—it destroyed patterns and equipment, including many tools that had been inherited from his father, grandfather, and even his mother-in-law. While these items can be replaced, the sentimental value and memories attached to them are irreplaceable. The loss has been especially tough for our dad, who has always been on the “other end of the hose,” helping others through their own tragedies.
Now, as our dad faces this loss, we want to show him the same support he’s given to so many. The funds raised will go directly toward replacing the leather, patterns, and tools he needs to rebuild his business and continue his craft. As we prepare to surprise him for his birthday, we’re reaching out to friends, family, and the community he’s served for years. Your support will mean the world to him—and to all of us. Thank you for helping us remind Tim that he’s not alone.
