Help Tim Overcome Chronic Pain

My name is Angie Seim and I am fundraising on behalf of my husband Tim. 12 years ago, Tim suffered a back injury that would alter his life completely. He had a spinal fusion to repair his back and in hopes to help his pain; however, it did just the opposite. His pain was worse than before, and he would now have what they call failed back surgery syndrome. He has had a battle each step of the way since. He has had numerous nerves burned 7 times and too many injections to count, in hopes to relieve pain. They have only provided temporary relief. We have gotten second opinions and even begged Mayo to help. Mayo won’t even consider a look, and his doctor had no ideas. However, Tim did not give up and 4 years ago, he found a doctor who was willing and able to help. He diagnosed that Tim’s left SI Joint failed and needs to be repaired. Sadly, our insurance company, Anthem by Blue Cross, does what they do best, deny. They have also stopped paying for nerve burnings and injections. Medicare and Medicaid pay for these treatments and surgeries, but not Anthem. We have spent nearly every dime we have, paying out of pocket for additional nerve burnings and injections. We have submitted the surgery to Anthem several times, who have denied every time. We have exhausted all our appeals and contacted the state for assistance, but to no avail. His doctor also appealed and fought to get it covered without success. Dr. Fischer has graciously offered to do his surgery out of pocket for the bare minimum. This is why I have come to GoFundMe. I want to see Tim live without pain. I want to see Tim be the dad he wants to be for our little girl. This is very humbling, and I would not ask for help if we had a way to make it on our own.
