Hi, my name is Sherry, and I’ve started this GoFundMe for my brother Tim and my sister-in-law Laura as they face one of the most difficult times in their lives.
Two years ago, Tim was diagnosed with a large sarcoma tumor in his thigh. He underwent surgery to remove it, and for a while, we were hopeful. But recently, he began experiencing severe pain and struggled to get clear answers from his medical team. After finally going to the ER, we received devastating news: the cancer had spread to his bones and up his spine, which had also fractured.
Last week, Tim endured a seven-hour surgery at Sharp Hospital in San Diego to stabilize his spine. We hoped this would allow him to begin chemotherapy and radiation, but just days into rehab, the pain returned—and he’s now unable to walk. He’s in constant, debilitating pain and still searching for real answers and support.
Tim is a proud Navy veteran who served our country for 11 years. He and Laura are also raising their five-year-old twin grandsons, both with special needs. Tim has always been the kind of person who quietly shoulders his burdens, never complains, and would never dream of asking anyone for help. That’s just who he is—humble, strong, and deeply self-reliant.
But right now, they need help—and that’s why I’m here. As his sister, I can't sit by while he faces this fight without support.
Medical bills, rent, and daily living expenses are quickly adding up. If we can raise enough to cover even a few months of rent, it would lift a huge weight off their shoulders. We may also need to help them move to a ground-floor apartment, as Tim’s current home—up a flight of stairs—is no longer accessible for him.
Any amount, big or small, will make a difference. Your support will give them some relief and the space to focus on Tim’s care, recovery, and their family.
Thank you so much for your kindness, compassion, and generosity.
With love and gratitude,
