My name is Timothy Lopez, and I am a third-year member of The Colts Drum and Bugle Corps, a popular nonprofit organization within Drum Corps International. I serve as both a musician and athlete.

If you haven’t heard of our organization, our mission is simple: “We use music and excellence to teach each other about success in life.” This philosophy drives our organization and ensures its continued success. Our programs serve young people who seek high levels of challenge and achievement, and as members, we are expected to uphold a strong commitment to hard work and dedication. In just three short months, we are tasked to learn a world-class performance that is not only physically demanding but also competitive at a national level against some of the best musicians in the country. The membership works incredibly hard to be as efficient as possible, as this teaches us to be exceptional at time management and prioritize multiple tasks in a high-stress environment.

I have been deeply impacted by my experience and have only grown more passionate—not just about this organization, but about the activity as a whole. Every day that I spend with the Colts presents new challenges that push me to become a better person, performer, and leader.

I am have made this gofundme because I believe the values and mission of this organization provide meaningful service to communities across the country. A donation could make a true diference in supporting my marching career and in furthering our impact.
