Help Tim Kelsey Adapt to Life After Paralysis
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
My name is Deb Mitchell, and I am organizing this GoFundMe for my sister, Kathy Marble, and Tim Kelsey. As some of you may know, Tim was involved in a severe car accident in October. Tragically, on Tuesday, November 11th, he experienced a critical medical crisis that has resulted in paralysis from the neck down. The doctors are currently uncertain if this condition will be permanent, and it may take several months before we have a clearer picture.
In the coming days, Tim will be transferred to a specialized rehabilitation facility in Lincoln, Nebraska, which focuses on spinal cord injuries. Earlier this week, Kathy met with a representative from the facility who provided detailed information about the rehabilitation process and what to expect. Unfortunately, due to insurance limitations, most patients are only approved for approximately 40 days of rehab before being discharged to continue therapy at local facilities that lack the same level of specialization. One certainty conveyed to Kathy is that Tim will most likely return home in a wheelchair.
We are seeking to raise funds to make necessary modifications to their home to ensure it is wheelchair accessible. Their house, built over a hundred years ago, does not meet any ADA standards. Given the urgency of the situation, we have a limited timeframe to complete these essential renovations.
If you can contribute financially, we would be immensely grateful. For those who are unable to donate, we kindly ask for your prayers for Kathy, Tim, and the kids during this challenging time. We firmly believe in the power of miracles and are praying for one now, while also preparing for any outcome, trusting in God’s timing.
Thank you for your support and compassion.
Warm regards, Deb Mitchell
