Help Tim Hudson Battle Vocal Cord Cancer

My name is Christy Brown and I am trying to do what I can to help my brother, Rev. Tim Hudson, out with his medical bills. He was diagnosed with stage 4 vocal cord cancer around the beginning of this year. He went through chemo and radiation while having to use a feeding tube. He finished up the treatments in June and was supposed to wait for at least 3 months and have another scan to see if the treatments worked.

Unfortunately, he started swelling and was having pain in his throat again with it almost closing completely up. After scans and more biopsies, he has been told that a Laryngectomy is needed. He has a very aggressive tumor on both vocal cords. It will take 7-10 hours for the surgery to remove the larynx, reconstruct the esophagus, take a flap of muscle from the arm or thigh and make separation between the airway and food pipe as well as removal of lymph nodes. He will also have a permanent tracheostomy.

He has been dealing with his voice loss for well over a year but it was being attributed to acid reflux. He just turned 59 in July and is my only sibling. He and his wife, Donna, made it their life’s mission to evangelize and spread God's word here and abroad. When COVID hit, it slowed down their work due to restrictions. Once they were able to get back on the road again, they were hit with all this. His voice is his instrument and livelihood. This has been a devastating blow to them but we know God is in control. Surgery is planned for September 18th.

He has 4 grandchildren with the oldest about to be 4 and the youngest just 2 months old. They will never know what WaWa (that’s what they call him) sounds like. If I could do anything to give him his voice back I would but I can’t so if lifting the medical burden a little will help, I’ll try everything I can to do that. If you feel like you would like to donate anything to go toward his medical bills, I can personally tell you they (and my family) would more than greatly appreciate it.
